PRESIDENT, Michael Coombs
PRESIDENT-ELECT, Alex Harries
I am a second year historian from St John’s. My interest in IR and politics has stemmed from my study of history, school-level debating and from international travel. Being involved in IRSoc has been an incredibly enjoyable experience and I’m very privileged to be serving as President next term.
My role as President-Elect is to invite speakers and prepare for next term as well as providing support to Michael and this term’s committee. I hope to see you at some of the great speaker events and socials we have organised this term. The society is really friendly and is always keen to see new faces come along to events and get involved. If you have any questions or suggestions for Trinity Term, please feel free to send me an email or approach me at an event.
TREASURER, Katherine Crofts-Gibbons
I’m a second year studying history and politics. My interest in International Relations comes from travelling in Africa, and
from a gap year which I spent travelling around Asia and Europe. I’ve been involved with IRSoc since Michaelmas of my first
year, and I’ve enjoyed watching the society grow and develop.
As Treasurer I am responsible for the Society’s finances. I plan the termly budget and oversee expenditure. I liaise with the
Sponsorship Officers and work closely with the President.
SECRETARY, George O’Shea
I’m a second year PPEist at Somerville College. My interest in international development has stemmed from both my very international family and my traveling. Some of the best experiences of my life have been going to places like Uganda, Ghana and Russia as well as hitchhiking around Europe. IRsoc is a fantastic society, with some incredible speaks and excellent management. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
As Secretary oversee the work of our Events and Social Officers in organising the logistics of each event- including venue booking, managing College Representatives and responding to any queries about the society. I am really looking forward to Michaelmas term and I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at our events. If you have any questions or queries, or if you would like to get more involved in IRSoc, please don’t hesitate to send me an email.
PUBLICITY SECRETARY, Miguel Rodriguez Correa
Kevin Min (email@example.com)
I’m a second year Mathematician at University College and having lived in three different countries, my interest in international relations and consequently IRSoc has been inevitable. I have been involved with IRSoc ever since I came to Oxford and since my first talk, I’ve loved every bit of it – the socials, the fierce debates in wine receptions after speaker events and of course the past and present committees.
As sponsorship secretary I’ll be responsible for acquiring sponsorship for the society in cooperation with the President and Treasurer in addition to maintaining our current sponsors. In particular, this would involve updating and distributing our sponsorship proposals. All in all, I look forward to having a great term come Trinity!

PHOTOGRAPHY OFFICER, Masha Gindler
My passport says Maria but I people call me Masha. I am a third year studying Philosophy and Psychology at St. Hilda’s. As the Film and Photography Officer it is my job to document all the exciting events going on at IRsoc for your viewing pleasure. My father ensured that I had an interest in International Relations growing up. I hope that being part of IRsoc will give me the knowledge and experience to finally beat him in a political debate. I also hope to take some really good photos along the way. Feedback is always welcome, so do not be shy in e-mailing me.
