PRESIDENT, George O’Shea
PRESIDENT-ELECT, Naomi Rowe
I’m a third year studying History and Politics at Magdalen College and I have long had an interest in international relations that mainly stems from devouring books about far off places as a child. This society has given me a wonderful opportunity to listen to and talk with some truly fantastic people and I am so happy to be a part of it!
My role as President Elect is to invite speakers and to prepare for Hilary Term whilst also providing support to George and the other committee members. If you have any suggestions or questions about IRsoc next term please do get in contact, I would love to hear from you!
TREASURER, Guy Bud
I’m a 2nd year Historian at Somerville College. I joined IRSoc pretty much as soon as I arrived in Oxford back in 2012. I’ve always been fascinated by International Relations, and joining the committee is a really great way to get more involved in the area. The best things about IRSoc, of course, are the excellent speaker and social events which are held each term. My role as Treasurer is basically to make sure that we always have enough money to allow the society to continue to operate at the high level it does. Apart from that, I work closely with the President, Treasurer-elect and the two Sponsorship Officers in order to co-ordinate the financial side of the society in general.
TREASURER-ELECT / SPONSORSHIP SECRETARY, Ashleigh Tilley
I’m a third-year Music student at Jesus with – despite the choice of degree subject – the long-held hope that I’ll end up in international relations one way or another. My interest in IR and international development comes from a childhood spent moving around various Asian countries, while getting involved in IRSoc in second year has exposed me to some of the most interesting and exciting talks I’ve seen at Oxford. This term my position involves acquiring sponsorship for the society and working closely with the Sponsorship Officers and Treasurer, as well as getting ready for the role of Treasurer in Hilary ’14.
SECRETARY, Eunice Kim
Hello, my name is Eun Seo (Eunice) Kim and I will be Secretary during Michaelmas 2013. I am a South Korean second year PPEist at LMH and I have enjoyed every moment I spent working as part of IRSoc with its diverse membership and open atmosphere.
My role as Secretary will involve overseeing the work of our Events and Social Officers in organising the logistics of each event including venue booking, managing College Representatives and of course, planning and documenting committee meetings.
